Screen Saver Software Downloads

Welcome to the Olympus Microscopy Resource Center screen saver software download area. Our software programmers have worked in collaboration with microscopists from around the world to develop a series of screen savers using photomicrographs (recorded as digital images) and the extensive Olympus line of microscopes equipped with digital cameras. These screen savers have been developed for computers utilizing the Windows (95, 98, NT, and 2000) operating system and are available as free downloads to our visitors. We hope you enjoy these screen savers, which are provided at no charge by Olympus America, Inc. and The Florida State University.

Olympus FluoroScapes Screen Saver

Olympus FluoroScapes Screen Saver

Explore the amazing world of fluorescence microscopy and review the performance of Olympus widefield fluorescence and confocal microscopes. This unique screen saver features 36 fluorescence digital images captured with either the BX51 or FluoView FV300 Laser Scanning Confocal Microscope. Specimens include cells in culture from 19 individual established lines (hosts: human, mouse, rat, monkey, mink, tahr, dog, pig, deer, and rat kangaroo), as well as human, mouse, rat, and sheep thin tissue sections. Each specimen was double or triple labeled with a combination of synthetic fluorophores using standard protocols and immunofluorescence techniques. The screen saver software also contains 15 user-configurable display modules that allow an almost infinite number of image display transition motifs.

This screen saver features 23 microscope images that were modeled and rendered in 3D Studio Max, including the following microscopes: AX70, AX70 with FV500, AX80, BX41, BX45, BX45A, BX51, BX51 opened to show the interior view, BX51 motorized, BX51WI, BX52, BX61 motorized, CX 21, CKX31, CX31, CX31 opened to show interior view, CX41, IX51 with 100-watt illuminator, IX51 with 30-watt illuminator, IX71, IX71 opened to show interior view, IX81, and the SZX12. The screen saver software also contains 12 user-configurable display modules that allow an almost infinite number of image display transition motifs.

Installing Olympus Screen Savers

Built around the Install Shield programming interface, the Olympus Microscopy Resource Center screen savers are very simple to install. First double-click on the appropriate icon, and then follow the instructions presented in the subsequent dialog boxes.

Configuring Olympus Screen Savers

Each screen saver has 12 user-configurable image-switching modules that allow a variety of transitions between images. This feature enables the user to customize the screen saver display to suit personal tastes.
